Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for someone who wants to be a part of us at Tygelsjö's adapted primary school and who wants to work in the important role of a student assistant!

As a student assistant in an adapted primary school, you work to provide the guidance and stimulation that the student needs in their learning and personal development. This is so that the student, based on their own conditions, can develop as far as possible according to the goals of education. This means that you guide and support the student in learning, make the student's abilities visible and develop them. You are available both socially and practically throughout the student's entire school day as well as in the after-school program. One of the cornerstones is to help the student towards independence, and you build relationships with the student and their surroundings to increase security. You will be part of a work team with several other student assistants, teachers, and special teachers connected to our students. Our focus is on the student, and each student assistant has a directly decisive role in the student's learning and development.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a high school or adult education from the health and care program (or equivalent knowledge through at least two years of experience with children and young people with disabilities/intellectual disabilities). You need to have experience working in a team with children and young people with intellectual disabilities, additional diagnoses, and extraordinary needs are meritorious. We are looking for someone who knows that all students can develop regardless of needs or cognitive level and who can provide each student with the support they need to move forward in their development. Competence in TAKK, AKK, and digital learning tools is meritorious. Previous experience in self-care and personal care is also meritorious.

We are looking for someone who is a secure and stable team player with the ability to also work independently. You are flexible in your working methods and have a natural talent for creating and maintaining good relationships. As a person, you are attentive and humble towards both students and colleagues, and you always act from a low-arousal approach.

To succeed in the role, we see that you are passionate about developing and challenging students, regardless of their cognitive level or specific needs. You also have the will and competence to support our students with both ADL and medical needs in their daily lives.

About the Workplace

Tygelsjö's adapted primary school is a relatively newly started operation that belongs to the Tygelsjö principal area in Tygelsjö. In the principal area, there are also grades F-1 and 2-3 units Tygelsjö School and Pilbäck School with grades 4-9. The principal area is located in the scenic Tygelsjö about a 10-minute bus ride from Hyllie station. Tygelsjö is a residential area consisting of an older center with surrounding newly built areas. Tygelsjö's adapted primary school is located across the street from the F-2 unit and is in an exciting stage of development and expansion of the operation. We have been fully staffed in our student and staff strength for just under a term and are still in the startup phase of our operation. Our units are characterized by great security and well-being as well as good community between teachers and students.
